New Delhi . Welcoming the announcement of the third economic package by the central government in the wake of the Kovid-19 pandemic, BJP President JP Nadda said that the timely decision and effective implementation of the Modi government has left no stone unturned in making India self-reliant. In a series of tweets, Nadda said that with today’s announcements, the total incentive package has gone up to Rs 29.87 lakh crore, which is 15 percent of the GDP. “The Modi government’s timely decision and effective implementation has left no stone unturned in making India self-reliant,” he said.
He said, “These announcements are important because under this a subsidy of Rs 1.46 lakh crore has been allocated to the manufacturing sector and Rs 65,000 crore for fertilizers. The scope of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Garib Kalyan Rojgar Yojana has also been extended. He said that the steps taken to research industrial incentives and vaccines of the Kovid-19 pandemic are also important. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday announced another dose of incentives to boost the economy. Relief was announced on select sale deals in the housing sector, while the loan guarantee facility program for small businesses has been extended till the end of this financial year.
Along with this, it has been announced to provide provident fund support to industries employing people. The latest incentives include additional fertilizer subsidies and the previously announced production based incentive scheme for manufacturing units. After the announcement of the lockdown by combining all these incentive measures, the amount of the total relief package announced so far has reached about Rs 30 lakh crore i.e. 15 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP). The incentives announced today by the Finance Minister include additional financing for real estate developers and contractors, a new employment incentive scheme and additional expenditure for rural employment.
