London | Pakistan has invited the England men’s cricket team to tour the limited overs series in 2021. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave this information. The ECB said in a statement, “After discussion with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), we can confirm that the ECB has received an invitation from Pakistan for a short tour of the limited overs series to the England men’s team in 2021 . ”
The statement further reads, “We welcome the return of international cricket to Pakistan and we are committed to helping it as much as we can.”
Though nothing has been decided about this tour, but the ECB has said that it will discuss it with the PCB. England have not toured Pakistan since 2005 and according to the FTP, their next tour is to take place in 2022.
In front of the proposed tour, the ECB has challenged the Kovid-10 Bio Secure Bubble, the country’s full security and the already busy schedule of the England cricket team, but said that a final decision has not been taken on it.
“At this time the safety of our players and staff is paramount before any proposed tour. So there are many things to be taken care of, including the protocols of the Kovid-19, team security,” he said.
Pakistan visited England in the middle of Kovid-19 this year. On this round, Pakistan played three Tests with England, apart from the same number of T20 series.
