New Delhi. Reliance Jio has become the first telecom services company in the country to cross the 400 million subscriber mark. The company added 3.5 million new subscribers in July, according to a report by telecom regulator TRAI. According to the report, the total number of telecom subscribers in the country increased slightly in July to 116.4 million. In July, this number was 116 crores. According to the latest report of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), mobile phone connections increased to 114.4 crore in July. In June this number was 114 crores. Among these, urban and rural area connections were 61.9 crore and 52.1 crore respectively. After several years, the number of fixed line connections increased slightly to 1,98,20,419 in July. Jio and other private companies contributed to this.
During this time, the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited of the government sector. And MTNL and Reliance Communications and Tata Tele Services continued to have a decline in the number of fixed line connections. Reliance Jio’s share in India’s mobile market has reached 35.03 percent with 40,08,03,819 subscribers. Bharti Airtel added 32.6 BSNL mobile lien in July. During this period, Vodafone lost more than 37 lakh and MTNL lost 5.457 lakh mobile subscribers. The number of broadband connections increased by 1.03 percent to 70.54 crore in the month under review. It was 69.82 crores in June.
