Lucknow. A special CBI court will give its verdict on Wednesday in the Ayodhya demolition case which changed the political direction of the country. Many senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party are also accused in the 28-year-old trial and most of them will be present at the time of pronouncement of the verdict. It is being told that the decision can be about two thousand pages. It will be uploaded on the court website soon after it is heard. The lawyers of the CBI and the accused have filed a written debate of about eight and a half pages. Apart from this, 351 witnesses were examined by the CBI before the court and presented more than 600 documents. Today will be the final decision for the tenure of Special Judge SK Yadav. After retiring on 30 September 2019, the Supreme Court has extended him service till the verdict.

– Sakshi Maharaj’s lawyer Prashant Singh Atal says that the CBI has failed to give evidence. 351 witnesses do not appear to prove the charge. Witness of CBI has not been able to provide proof. The decision will come in our favor only. People had broken the structure with spontaneous inspiration, in which there was no fault of anyone.
– Lal Krishna Advani, Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das have not arrived to appear in court, while Vinay Katiyar, Ram Vilas Vedatis, Dharmadas, Champat Rai, Pawan Paday and Lallu Singh have reached Lucknow.
Outside the old premises of the High Court in Lucknow, there is a tight security since morning for the decision of the disputed structure demolition case. A decision in this matter is reported at 11 am. In addition to the judges, litigants, defendants and their lawyers, only the court staff can go to the CBI court.
Such accusations can be punished: According to law experts, if the accused are convicted in the sections under which the case is prosecuted, then senior BJP leaders and former Deputy Prime Ministers LK Advani, Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Ram Mandir Tirtha Trust Chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Secretary Champat Rai Bansal, Satish Pradhan, Ram Vilas Vedati and Dharmadas could face a maximum sentence of five years. Similarly, the then UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj and then DM of Ayodhya RN Srivastava can be sentenced to a maximum of three years of imprisonment if found guilty.
Nritya Gopal Das and Uma Bharti will not be present: The court has ordered all 32 accused to appear at the time of verdict. However, many accused are unlikely to come to court due to medical reasons. Uma Bharti is corona positive while Nritya Gopal Das is hospitalized. Advani and Joshi are also running unwell. However, Senior Advocate of the High Court Arun Sinha says that the court can pass judgment without the presence of the accused. If convicted, their presence can be ensured by issuing NBW.
Case was registered on December 6, 1992: The disputed structure was demolished in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992. Both Hindus and Muslims made their claims on this. The Hindu side maintained that the structure in Ayodhya was built by the Mughal ruler Babur at the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi in 1528, while the Muslim side claimed that the mosque was not built by demolishing a temple. On the call of organizations associated with the temple movement, a large number of kar sevaks gathered there and demolished this structure. The first First Information Report (FIR) in this case was lodged at the Ramjanmabhoomi police station on the same day. A case was registered against 40 known and millions of unknown kar sevaks under various sections of the IPC.
Only 32 of the 49 accused survive: On December 6, 1992, a total of 49 FIRs were registered in this case after the disputed structure demolition. CBI had filed a charge sheet against 40 accused after deliberating all together. Charges were framed against nine by filing a supplementary affidavit on 11 January 1996. A total of 32 of the 49 accused are now alive.
