The flight from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Bengaluru was halted from late night to early morning due to the rumour of a bomb. During this time, the flight and the runway were thoroughly checked. Canadian citizen Yohanathan Nishikant, who was present in the same flight, had reported the presence of a bomb. After three hours of thorough investigation, the information proved to be a rumour and the flight was sent to Bengaluru. Yohanathan Nishikant has been handed over to Phulpur police station by the airport authority officials.
The police of Phulpur police station have arrested Canadian citizen Yohanathan Nishikant and have started questioning him. Late Saturday night, Indigo Airlines flight number 6E-499 was about to take off at 10:24 pm, a little later than the scheduled time. Meanwhile, a Canadian citizen Yohanathan left his seat and sat in the front. When the crew members asked him to go back to his seat, he got angry and shouted that there is a bomb in my bag.
Security personnel conducted investigation campaign
Not only this, after the threat, the passenger started shouting loudly ‘Allah Hu Akbar’, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’. After this act of the passenger, an atmosphere of panic was created in the plane. After this, the pilot immediately decided to turn the flight back from the runway and informed the air traffic control about the matter. The plane was brought back to the apron and the flight was evacuated. After this, the security personnel conducted a search campaign in the entire airport including the entire flight.

After the investigation campaign that lasted for about three hours, the news of a bomb in the flight proved to be a rumour. When the information proved to be a rumour, the passengers felt relieved. The early morning flight departed for Bengaluru. Airport Authority officials have handed over Canadian citizen Yohanathan Nishikant to the Phulpur police station after hours of interrogation. The police have registered a case against Yohanathan and started investigation as to why he said this and on whose advice.
