Meanwhile, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Assembly Speaker Premchand Aggarwal inspected the Assembly in the Assembly on Wednesday regarding the preparations for the session. The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the preparations for the session. Later, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Aggarwal informed that besides MLAs above 65 years of age, other MLAs will also be requested to participate in the proceedings of the House through virtual medium.
There are 70 elected and one nominated MLAs in the Legislative Assembly, but the seating arrangement for them is limited. The hallway is getting smaller when arranged according to the safe physical distance standards in the coronary. In view of this, the assembly had been brainstorming over many options for the past several days. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Chief Minister, along with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, inspected the assembly and reviewed the seating arrangement of the MLAs in the House. He also observed the arrangements being made for the legislators joining the virtual medium. He also gave suggestions to the officials regarding other arrangements including sound system within the House.
Assembly Speaker Aggarwal apprised the Chief Minister that all MLAs would have to give a copy of the Korana inquiry report up to 72 hours before entering the House. Legislators whose report will be negative will be able to participate in the proceedings of the House. He informed that 12 MLAs in the assembly are over 65 years of age.
According to the Speaker, the Assembly has a seating arrangement of 47 MLAs according to the safe physical distance standards. In view of this, seating arrangements of MLAs are also being made in Journalist Gallery, Audience Gallery and Officer Gallery. Arrangements are being made for the seating of officers in the Governor’s Gallery. Arrangements are being made to sanitize the MLAs three times from the entrance to the house itself. Masks, globs and sanitizers will be provided to legislators as soon as they enter the house. He said that in view of the Corona crisis, the session is not less than a challenge, but the session will be duly organized keeping in mind all the important things. Cooperation has been sought from all the members for this.
Question Hour will also last
The Speaker said that the entire question hour will be held during the session. So far, more than one thousand questions of 23 MLAs have been received for the session. He informed that after the meeting to be held on September 11 during the session on security preparedness, arrangements will be finalized after discussing many other topics.
