Bulandshahr: An elderly couple committed suicide by jumping from the Sangam Express train while holding each other’s hands on Saturday night. 70-year-old Bisan Sharma lived in the village with his wife Harvati after retirement. Son Sushil Sharma is living in Bulandshahr with his wife and children.
A year ago, Bison Sharma was hit by a bull, due to which his hip was broken. A few days ago, Sushil bought a house in Ghaziabad where he wanted to take his elderly parents, but he was not ready to go there. There was a dispute going on regarding this for several days.
Late Saturday evening, Sushil went to Ghaziabad with his wife to keep some belongings at the house. After this Bisan Sharma reached Maukheda railway station with his wife. When the Sangam Express train going from Meerut to Prayagraj arrived at around 8.30 pm, both of them held each other’s hands and jumped in front of the train, in which both of them died.
During the search, a suicide note was recovered from the shirt pocket of Bisan Sharma. GRP police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar says that in the suicide note the couple has made allegations against their son. A case will be registered after investigation.
