new Delhi. For the Corona patients who do not have any symptoms or health problems, the Delhi government is in favor of giving them treatment at home. However, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has issued orders for all Corona patients to spend at least 5 days in isolation centers. The Delhi government says that this order of the Lieutenant Governor is intimidating to the people. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “People will feel scared if they feel that the government will be picked up in quarantine as soon as Corona happens.” Apart from the speed with which corona cases are coming, if three to four thousand such cases continue daily, then the arrangement of beds for so many people, arrangement of medical staff will be a big challenge.
Sisodia said, by June 30, there will be one lakh corona patients in Delhi. It is estimated that two and a half lakh corona patients are available by July 15 and five and a half lakh corona patients by July 31. In such a situation, the order issued by the Lt. Governor will need to be changed. The Delhi government said, “We are fully with the central government in our collective fight against Corona, but such arbitrary decisions will cause serious damage to Delhi.” LG should revisit this decision. After this order we will need thousands of beds in quarantine centers immediately.
Along with this, the Delhi government has also canceled holidays of health workers working in all medical institutions. The Delhi government, while issuing an order, said that medical superintendents and MDs of medical institutions should call back all the health workers on leave. Along with this, it should be ensured that only in special circumstances, health workers engaged in essential services are provided holidays. The Delhi government says that due to the rapidly increasing number of corona patients, it is extremely important for all hospitals to function to their full potential. In the coming days, 80 thousand beds will be required for corona patients in Delhi.
