Jaipur. Film producer and director Anurag Kashyap may be in trouble for making objectionable comments on a particular caste on social media. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at Bajaj Nagar police station in Jaipur. Now the police is engaged in investigation and research of the case.
ASI Indraj of Bajaj Nagar police station said that this case has been registered on the complaint of a person named Anil Chaturvedi. Investigation is going on in it. Actually, this entire controversy is related to a comment made on social media. Due to which cases have been registered against Anurag Kashyap in other states including Madhya Pradesh.
Case under section 196(1)(A) and 352: Actually, Anil Chaturvedi, a resident of Shiv Colony, Barkat Nagar, Jaipur, said in his report that film producer, director and writer Anurag Kashyap has used abusive words for a particular caste on social media. Due to which the sentiments of a particular caste have been hurt. On the complaint of the complainant, a case has been registered under Section 196 (1) (A) and 352 of the Indian Penal Code. Investigation and further investigation are going on.
Provision of imprisonment up to three years, fine: Section 196 (1) (A) of the BNS deals with promoting enmity between groups. It talks about creating or attempting to create feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, place of birth, residence, language etc. This section covers such crimes by speaking, writing, signs, visual representation or through electronic communication. The punishment for committing an offence under this section can be imprisonment up to three years, fine, or both, depending on the severity of the crime.
