Rampur. There was a dispute between the bride and groom’s side over the demand of 10 lakh rupees in dowry in the marriage hall located at Khoud Chauraha. During this, there was a fierce fight. 10 people including the groom were injured in the fight. Seeing the police coming, the groom and the baraatis ran away without the bride.
The baraat came to Ratanpura Sumali village on Friday evening from Dundai village of Shahjahannagar police station area. The bride’s side had booked a marriage hall at village Khoud Chauraha in Azimnagar police station area to welcome the baraat. The baraat that arrived late at night was fed food. The wedding rituals started at three in the night.
During this, the groom and his relatives demanded 10 lakh rupees. Due to the groom’s demand, the girl’s side started a ruckus. The people present on the spot somehow calmed the matter. During the garland ceremony, the people of the bride and groom’s side clashed with each other.
The bride and groom’s side chased and beat each other
During this time, both the sides chased and beat each other for a long time. As soon as the information was received, the police also reached the spot. Seeing the police coming, the groom and other baraatis fled from the spot. The police took the groom’s father into custody.
On Saturday, efforts were made to reach a compromise between the two sides. Dozens of chairs in the marriage hall were broken in the fight and 10 people from both the sides were also injured. SHO Karam Singh Pal said that both the sides are trying to reach a compromise.
A similar case came in Uttarakhand too
The bride’s baraat in village Khamaria of Nanakmatta police station area got disrupted when someone complained to the police that the bride was a minor. Due to this, the baraat returned without getting married.
Pappu Singh’s baraat from village Sisai Kheda had gone to village Khamaria of police station area on Saturday. The baraat reached the village and after the band played, the baraatis and the bride’s side had their dinner. People were having fun by dancing on the DJ. Preparations for the wedding ceremony of the bride and groom were going on. Meanwhile, someone informed 112 that the bride was a minor.
