Meerut Police of Uttar Pradesh has killed the accused of five murders, Naeem, in an encounter. This encounter took place in Summer Garden area of Lisadi Gate police station area at 3 am on Saturday (25 January). Naeem was the main accused in the murder of his step brother’s entire family. The police had placed a reward of Rs 50,000 on Naeem.
Five people were murdered in a house in Suhail Garden, Meerut. Naeem brutally murdered his step brother, sister-in-law, her 1-year-old daughter and 3 girls. After this, he locked their house and absconded. Police said that they had received information about a foul smell coming from a house on January 9. During investigation in the house, the bodies of a couple and their three daughters were recovered. The police had sent the bodies for post-mortem, in which the murder was confirmed.
Disguised repeatedly to hide identity
When the police registered a case and started investigation, Naeem’s name came up as the main accused. Naeem changed his disguise repeatedly to hide his identity and roamed around many places including Maharashtra and Delhi. Criminal cases were also registered against him in these states. Meerut police was constantly searching for him.
How did the encounter happen?
Meerut police had received secret information that Naeem was seen in the Summer Garden area. The police laid siege, but Naeem opened fire on the police in an attempt to escape. The police also retaliated and fired at him, in which Naeem got injured. Due to being injured, Naeem was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police statement
SSP Vipin Tada said that Naeem was a vicious criminal and was absconding in this heinous murder case. In such a situation, his arrest was a big challenge for the police. After this encounter, the victim’s family is hopeful of getting justice. Police have recovered a weapon and some other items from Naeem. Further investigation into the case is underway.
