Bareilly. A vegetarian Brahmin youth was given a non-vegetarian pizza. On Saturday, he broadcasted the video and demanded action. He said that my faith and sentiments were hurt due to the negligence of the employees of the pizza shop located in the city.
Inspector Dhananjay Pandey of Izzatnagar police station said that a video was received accusing the employees of Domino’s Pizza shop of negligence. On this basis, when the victim Lakhan Sharma was talked to, he repeated the allegations but refused to register an FIR.
Ordered vegetarian pizza
Lakhan Sharma said that on Friday night he went to eat pizza. Ordered a vegetarian pizza, after some time the employee brought a box. Vegetarian pizza was written on it too, so started eating. When the taste seemed strange, he removed the layers of the pizza and then came to know that it was non-vegetarian. On complaining about this, the shop employees admitted that two pizzas were ordered together. Due to mistake, non-vegetarian pizza was given instead of vegetarian.
According to Lakhan, when he complained to the company through email, the reply came that the people of the pizza shop will talk to you and find a solution. He said, I don’t want a solution but an improvement so that no other vegetarian has to face such a bad situation. When the matter came to my notice, the police was sent there. Lakhan Sharma said that a reputed company gave non-veg pizza instead of veg but did not give a complaint letter. Due to this, no action was taken. Fine has already been imposed on a company
Earlier, the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission had imposed a fine of Rs 9 lakh 65 thousand 918 on a reputed pizza company for sending non-veg pizza instead of veg pizza. The commission has also said in its order that this also hurt the religious sentiments of the consumer.
Online order made in October 2020
Shivang Mittal, a resident of Saket Colony, Roorkee, had ordered veg pizza and choco lava cake online from Domino’s on 26 October 2020. After the employee brought the pizza, he also paid Rs 918. As soon as Shivang Mittal opened the packet, there was a strange smell. After this, Shivang Mittal started vomiting.
According to Shivang Mittal, there is no non-vegetarian in his family. The whole family got upset. Their religion was corrupted by sending non-vegetarian pizza by the company. This hurt the sentiments of the family.
