As soon as the digital card of the wedding ceremony of a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy to be held on 21 December in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh went viral on social media, there was a ruckus. Hindu organizations have strongly objected to this marriage and have demanded the administration to cancel it.
A Hindu family of Aligarh had fixed the marriage of their daughter Avni with Ashar Ali, a Muslim youth from Aligarh. The digital card of this marriage was made viral on social media by people belonging to both the communities. After this, anger grew among Hindu organizations and some leaders associated with BJP. These organizations reached the District Magistrate’s office and demanded to stop this marriage ceremony and submitted a memorandum.
After the ruckus increased, former BJP mayor Shakuntala Bharti warned the guest house owner. She said that if this marriage program is organized and the peace of Aligarh is affected, then the district administration and the guest house owner will be responsible for it. Shakuntala Bharti also said that if the administration does not stop the organization of the marriage program, then she herself will reach the spot to protest.
Peace may be disturbed
At the same time, Bajrang Dal convenor Gaurav Sharma also expressed concern about this marriage and said that this event may affect the peace of Aligarh. He appealed to the administration to cancel this marriage ceremony with immediate effect. Gaurav Sharma said that due to the recent incidents in Badaun, Bahraich and Sambhal, such events may disturb the peace.
Administration is taking appropriate action
Administrative officer Amit Bhatt said that Hindu organizations have submitted a memorandum to him regarding this marriage ceremony, and he is taking appropriate action after taking cognizance of it. Now it has to be seen what action the administration takes in this matter and whether this marriage ceremony is organized on December 21.
