Kanpur. A PhD student has filed a sexual harassment case against Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mohsin Khan of Collectorganj. After this, he has been removed from the post and attached to the DGP office. SIT has been formed under the leadership of ADCP Archana Singh to investigate the matter. The student’s statement will be recorded in the court on Friday. After this, arrest and further action will be taken. Who is ACP Crime Mohsin Khan? Mohsin Khan, a resident of Lucknow, is a 2015 batch PPS officer. He was also holding the charge of ACP Crime. In July 2024, he started PhD on Cyber Crime, Investigation and Criminology from an educational institution in the city with departmental permission. A fourth-year student doing research with Mohsin had alleged on Wednesday that Mohsin grew closer by telling himself to be unmarried. After this, he had physical relations by luring marriage. When it was revealed that Mohsin was married, he told the student that his relationship with his wife was not good and he was going to divorce her. It is alleged that when the student increased pressure to marry, Mohsin started threatening her. After this, the student informed the teachers and senior police officers, but no action was taken on it.
Victim questioned for three hours
When the matter came into discussion on Thursday, Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar held a meeting with the officials in the morning. After this, DCP South Ankita Sharma reached the educational institution and questioned the victim for about three hours.
At quarter to six in the evening, the police issued a press release and informed about registering a case against ACP Mohsin Khan. The SIT formed for the investigation will include ADCP Archana Singh, ACP Abhishek Pandey, Inspector in-charge Kalyanpur Sudhir Kumar, besides a cyber expert.
