After a fight between two parties in Sikriganj police station area of Gorakhpur, the outpost in-charge and constable who reached the spot were taken hostage by the people of one side and beaten up fiercely. The constable saved his life by running away from the spot, but the outpost in-charge fainted due to a head injury. After the constable gave the information, the police force reached the spot and freed the outpost in-charge who was held hostage.
Shravan Yadav, a resident of Kanhauli village under Sikriganj police station of Gorakhpur district, has been having a dispute with his Patidar over land for a long time. Shravan was going on a bike to Dugra intersection on Sunday to get the bearing of the vibration, when Rajan of the other party also came on a bike and a dispute started between the two over moving the bike forward and backward. During this, many people from both the sides reached the spot.
Allegations were made against the police
After which Shravan informed the police about this dispute. As soon as the police came to know about the matter, they reached the spot and after convincing the people of both the sides, sent them back, but after some time, the dispute started again between the two sides and the matter reached to a fight. Shravan again informed the police about the matter. Shravan Kumar and his family members allege that the police is in cahoots with the people of the other side. That is why they reached the spot late.
Outpost in-charge held hostage
After making the allegations, Shravan and the people of his side started beating the outpost in-charge Dughra and the constable who had reached the spot with him and later locked both of them in a room. The constable somehow saved his life by coming out of the room and informed the police about the entire incident. The police force that reached the spot rescued the outpost in-charge from the clutches of the accused. After rescuing the seriously injured outpost in-charge, he was first taken to the district hospital for treatment, but later he was admitted to the medical college, where he is undergoing treatment.
FIR lodged against 35 people
In this case, SP South Jitendra Kumar said that on the complaint of SSI (Senior Sub Inspector) Bhupendra of Sikriganj, a case has been registered under serious sections against 15 named and 20 unknown people from both sides. At present, the police have detained many people including Shravan Yadav. Shravan Yadav was a soldier in the army. 10 years ago he left his job and came to the village and started making his mark in politics.
Dispute is going on regarding land dispute
In the last Panchayat elections, Shravan Yadav contested for the post of Pradhan, in which he had to face defeat. Shravan’s father had three brothers. His father Ram Singh was the eldest, Rajan’s father Ramjeet was second and Jhink was third who has no children. There has been a dispute going on for the last 10 years regarding the division of their property. There have been fights many times before regarding this.
