Aligarh. A major accident took place on the Yamuna Expressway in Tappal area late Wednesday night. There was a massive collision between a truck and a double-decker bus. Five people died in the accident.
The deceased include three men, a woman and a child. They could not be identified. More than 15 people were injured. Some are in critical condition. They have been admitted to private hospitals. A long jam occurred due to the incident. The police were busy clearing the jam till late night.
The bus was going from Delhi to Azamgarh
According to the police, the accident took place at point number 56 in Tappal area on the Yamuna Expressway at around 1 am late night. The double-decker bus was going from Delhi to Azamgarh. The truck was also going from Delhi to Agra. Meanwhile, the bus collided with the truck.
The accident was so severe that the conductor side of the bus was completely damaged. After the accident, the passengers in the bus started screaming. The team patrolling on the highway and the police reached the spot and got the injured out.
Inspector Tappal Shishupal Sharma said that five people have died in the accident. Their identity is being ascertained. The injured have been admitted to Kailash Hospital in Jewar. Some injured have been sent to hospitals in Aligarh. There was a long jam after the incident. Traffic is being made smooth by removing the vehicles.
The injured were taken out with great difficulty, the heart was shaken
Due to the night, all the passengers in the bus were sleeping. There was a lot of screaming after the sudden accident. One side of the bus was completely damaged. The police took out the injured with the help of the people nearby.
Injured children and women were lying on the road, seeing which the heart of the people was shaken. The bodies of the dead were badly mutilated. Till late night the police was trying to identify the dead.
The cause of the accident could not be ascertained. According to the police, this accident happened while overtaking. There is also a discussion that the bus got out of control and collided with the bus.
Accident averted at station, woman saved from being hit by train
A big accident was averted at Aligarh station on Wednesday. A woman was saved from being hit by Mahabodhi Express. Due to halt, the driver also slowed down the speed of the train. On people shouting, the woman also crossed the line at high speed.
RPF is responsible for stopping people crossing the railway line at the station. RPF is continuously taking action under special campaign. Despite this, people are crossing the railway line risking their lives whenever they get a chance. People are crossing the line in a hurry due to boarding the train.
