Prayagraj. The protest of competitive students outside the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has been going on continuously since Monday. This protest is against the decision of UPPSC to conduct PCS-2024 and RO/ARO-2023 preliminary examination in two days. There is deep dissatisfaction among the students about this decision of the commission and they are demanding to conduct it in a single day. On the third day of the protest on Wednesday, the enthusiasm of the students remains intact and they say that they will not back down until their demands are met.
The number of students is increasing in the protest
Competitive students from Delhi, Lucknow and other states are also reaching Prayagraj to join this protest. Students have camped outside the commission all night. The competitive students, who have been standing outside the commission for 48 hours, say that they are being treated unfairly by the two-day examination system. According to them, due to the two-day examination, there may be a difference in the exam results and discrepancies may arise in the normalization process, due to which the hard work of the students will not be evaluated properly.
There is opposition to the normalization process
Competitive students are also opposing the process of normalization in the examination. They believe that this process can deprive them of fair results. They argue that every exam has different question papers and there is a difference in the level of difficulty in them. In such a situation, the normalization process can harm those students who have solved difficult question papers. They want the examination to be conducted on a single day, so that there is a similar question paper for all the competitors and there is no discrimination.
Officials looking for a solution
UPPSC officials have tried to find a solution keeping in mind the demands and objections of the students, but for the time being it has been decided to keep the decision of two-day examination intact. Officials say that the decision of two-day examination has been taken due to non-availability of centers as per the guidelines of center determination under the Uttar Pradesh Examination Ordinance.
Further plan
Officials are trying to find a proper solution by talking to the representatives of the students on this matter. However, the students are not ready to back down from their demands and plan to continue the protest. Competitive students say that they are fighting to protect their future, and for this they are ready to go to any extent.
