Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested a person from Chhattisgarh for threatening to kill Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Police is interrogating the arrested suspect. Earlier, the police had called a person from Chhattisgarh to the police station for questioning.
Raipur SSP Santosh Singh said, ‘A team of Bandra Police from Mumbai reached Pandri police station. They have arrested Faizan Khan, who is a lawyer, in the case of threatening actor Shah Rukh Khan. He was given a notice a few days ago. After investigation, he was found guilty and arrested. He is being taken to Mumbai on transit remand. A case of assault is already registered against him.’
Last week, Mumbai Police received a call threatening Shah Rukh at Bandra station. The caller also demanded Rs 50 lakh, after which the police registered a case and sent a team to Raipur for further investigation. No further information has been given about the suspect yet.
Before Shah Rukh Khan, his close friend and Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan has received death threats. This threat has been given by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. On October 24, Mumbai Police arrested a man from Jamshedpur, who threatened Salman Khan in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore. After the Mumbai Traffic Police received the threatening message, the police have registered a case against the unknown person and started investigation.
At present, Mumbai Police has tightened the security of both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Police forces have been deployed outside the houses of both the superstars. Salman was upgraded to Y Plus security after the firing incident outside his house in April this year. The firing incident took place outside Salman’s house at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra area of Mumbai on April 14.
Maharashtra politician Baba Siddiqui was shot dead several times while leaving his son’s Bandra office on October 12. The Nationalist Congress Party leader and former minister died in the hospital shortly after the attack. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack. Baba Siddiqui’s death and death threats to stars like Salman and Shahrukh have increased concern among fans.
