Kannauj. Police has taken another big action in the case of rape of a teenager. Police has announced a reward of 25 thousand rupees on accused Nawab Singh Yadav’s former block pramukh younger brother Veerpal Yadav alias Neelu. He is named in the case of changing the statement and destroying evidence by luring the victim’s aunt, who was an accomplice in the rape, with money. He is absconding since the case was registered, seven police teams are continuously raiding to arrest him.
On the night of August 11, former block pramukh Nawab Singh had called a woman from a village to his degree college. The woman had come with her 15-year-old niece. During this time Nawab Singh raped the minor. Police arrested Nawab Singh from the spot and sent him to jail. The victim’s aunt, who had helped in the rape, was arrested by the police on August 20 and sent to jail the next day.
Pressure was put on her to change her statement in court
During police interrogation, the aunt had told that Nawab Singh’s younger brother, former block Neelu Yadav alias Veerpal had sent Rs 4 lakh to the account of a close friend to avoid getting the victim’s medical examination done in the district hospital and to change her statement in court. On the basis of her statement, the police have accused Neelu Yadav of destroying evidence and influencing the investigation.
14 criminal cases are registered against Neelu
Neelu is absconding since the rape incident. A total of 14 criminal cases are registered against him. SP Amit Kumar Anand said on Wednesday that seven teams are raiding to arrest the accused.
