In Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, the husband cut his wife’s neck with a sharp weapon. Angry at her asking for money, the husband first cut his wife’s neck with an axe and then brought an iron saw from the market to cut her body into pieces. When he was unable to cut his wife’s body parts, he brought a cutter machine from the market and cut her body into several pieces. After cutting his wife’s body into pieces, he took the different parts to different districts and threw them away. One mistake of his revealed the entire brutality of the devilish husband. This case is from the rural police station area of Balrampur district where the body of a woman with her head cut off and her body cut into several pieces was dumped in the bushes after stuffing it in sacks.
According to the information received, Shankar Dayal Gupta (45), a resident of Rani Bazar Gonda, and his wife Gudiya Pandey alias Neetu Pandey (41) often had disputes over money. On July 30, there was a dispute between the husband and wife over money, due to which Shankar Dayal Gupta, angry, killed Neetu on August 1 by slitting her throat with an axe in her own house. To hide the crime, on August 3, Neetu’s head and hands were thrown into the Saryu river in Ayodhya. To cut the rest of the body, he brought an iron saw and an electric cutter machine from the market and cut her body into several pieces. He filled them in two sacks and threw them in the bushes near Ajab Nagar village in Balrampur on August 6 and went back to Gonda on a motorcycle. On August 7, he threw the other body parts into the Saryu river from the new bridge in Ayodhya.
The police reached the accused with the help of CCTV
Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar said that after the woman’s body parts were found, the missing reports of about 500 women registered in 15 districts were investigated. About 300 CCTV footages of many districts were searched. In the CCTV footage installed at Agrahwa intersection on August 6 morning, a person was seen in a suspicious condition carrying a white sack on the back of a motorcycle. His motorcycle number was found and he was traced. The house of the motorcycle owner was found locked and the neighbours told that the house has been locked for many days and a foul smell is coming from inside the house.
Mobile, bike and cutter machine recovered
With the help of mobile surveillance team, the accused Shankar Dayal Gupta was arrested. On the information given by Shankar Dayal Gupta, the axe used in the murder and the cutter machine used to cut the woman’s body into pieces, the deceased’s mobile, iron saw, the motorcycle used to throw the body have been recovered. Vikas Kumar said that to hide the crime, the accused cut the deceased’s body into many pieces after watching Bollywood movies on mobile and threw them at different places. He said that the accused husband will be sent to the fast track court to get him punished.
