New Zealand got five penalty corners in the third quarter, but Sreejesh stood like a wall and did not allow all five penalty corners of New Zealand to be converted into goals. After which India managed to take a 2-1 lead in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was exciting
Despite India’s strong defense in the fourth quarter, Sreejesh could not clear the rebound, due to which New Zealand equalized the score. It seemed that the match was heading towards a draw, but in the 59th minute, India got a penalty stroke on New Zealand’s foul. Captain Harmanpreet Singh took advantage of this opportunity and scored a goal and gave India a 3-2 win.

India is now in third place in Pool B, while Belgium and Australia are in first and second place. India’s next match will be against Argentina on July 29. The top four teams of Pool B will reach the quarter-finals.
