Gorakhpur. Former Narhi police station in-charge Pannalal Kannaujiya, who was suspended on the charges of extortion on the UP-Bihar border, was arrested from his house by SWAT and Gola police of Azamgarh district on Sunday afternoon. Pannalal had absconded after the raid by ADG and DIG in the police station.

ADG Varanasi Zone Piyush Mordia and DIG Azamgarh Vaibhav Krishna had raided the Bharouli Tiraha of Narhi police station area on 25th July and arrested 16 brokers including three policemen.
On getting information about the action, the SHO fled from his residence. The officers sealed his room and searched the entire police station. Earlier, the entire staff of Korantadih outpost of Narhi police station was suspended on the charges of extortion.

On Sunday morning, Azamgarh district’s SWAT and Gola police station in-charge reached Pannalal Kannaujia’s house in Bharsi village. When the team started questioning the family members, he reached home on a bike after six hours, and the police took him with them. Returned after questioning the family members On Sunday morning at 8 o’clock, Gola police station in-charge and Azamgarh police’s SWAT in-charge reached Pannalal’s house with the force. When they started questioning Pannalal’s wife and family members about Pannalal, they started avoiding the question. Information was given about the phone conversation. During this time, Pannalal’s phone came to the family. After talking to the SWAT in-charge, he told that do not disturb the family, I am coming home. As soon as Pannalal reached home on a bike after six hours, the team took him along.
