In Kanpur, UP Special Task Force Police has busted a gang that was cheating people in the name of PM Awas Yojana. STF has also arrested 4 vicious thugs. The arrested criminals used to cheat people of money in the name of providing benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The criminals had cheated people of lakhs of rupees.
Taking action, STF arrested all four miscreants from Kaindha Road of Sachendi police station area of the city. The arrested accused are Anirudh Singh, Dilip Singh, Ajit Singh, resident of Sachendi police station area and Santosh Kumar Singh, resident of Chaubepur police station area. At the same time, their leader Ashish is still absconding, a team is engaged to catch him.
Police was getting input from the gang for many days
According to STF, this gang which was cheating people in the name of PM Awas Yojana was active for the last many years. The gang members used to target people by luring them through telecalling. The police had been getting inputs from the gang for many days. Team in-charge Raghavendra Singh said that on the basis of input received from Gorakhpur, these four people, who committed fraud in the name of Prime Minister’s residence in Kanpur, have been arrested near Kandha village of Sachendi police station. All four youths are residents of this area.
Used to cheat people through telecalling
The arrested criminals used to cheat people in a very clever way. They used to form a gang and lure people by taking details from their Aadhaar card numbers through tele-calling and getting them the Prime Minister’s residence. In the name of getting PM residence, these vicious swindlers used to cheat 20 to 50 thousand rupees from a person. He used to ask for money from people online. This gang used to make 10 to 15 people its victims every day. The police have sent all four criminals to jail.
