A unique case has come to light in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Here, a young man living in Sikandrarau area of Hathras district was arrested by the police just before he reached the bride’s house on the wedding day. The groom was arrested in the case of theft in a liquor vend. As soon as the girl’s family came to know about the groom’s arrest, the boy’s family married the bride to the groom’s elder brother.
Faisal’s marriage was to take place on September 11 in Bhojpur area under Rorawar police station area of Aligarh city. Almost all the wedding rituals had been completed. Late Monday evening, the procession had left for Aligarh from Sikandrarau in Hathras. As soon as the procession crossed the border of Hathras and reached the toll plaza on Etah road in Aligarh district, the police stopped the procession. After this, the police caught Faisal, the groom, and took him to Akrabad police station.

When the wedding procession came to know about the groom’s arrest, a crowd of wedding guests gathered at the police station for several hours. During this time the police remained busy in taking their action. According to the police, a few days ago, the miscreants had fled from the spot after breaking the lock of a liquor shop and canteen in Kasimpur of Akrabad police station area and stealing 35 boxes of liquor and other items. During this time, the police had recovered a bike and mobile from the spot, since then the police was busy in uncovering this incident.

Late in the evening, the police got information that Faisal, son of Shakeel, accused of theft in a liquor shop, resident of Bada Mohalla, Sikandrau district, Hathras, was going to Bhujpura locality of Aligarh city for marriage. On this information, the police caught the groom sitting in the taxi near the toll plaza on Aligarh-Etah road and took him to the police station. On this the family members and the groom also reached the police station and kept pleading the police to release the groom. After this, the bride was married to the groom’s elder brother Chand Mian.
Had run away leaving the motorcycle and phone
In this case, Barla CO Sarjana Singh says that the case registered in Akrabad police station was case number 489/23 and case number 531/23 which were registered in reference to theft. There is an accused in this regard whose name is Faisal. He has been arrested. On the day of the incident, he had run away leaving his motorcycle and phone. From which he has been identified. At the behest of the arrested accused, some liquor boxes and a tobacco packet have also been recovered. The arrest of the remaining accused will be ensured soon.
