New Delhi. The Government of India recently announced the 69th National Film Awards. The name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was also included in this list. The film won awards in one, two or three, rather 5 categories. At the same time, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has become the personality to win the National Award 7 times.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was awarded for Best Editing and Best Screenplay at the 69th National Awards in 2023 for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Apart from this, Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Award for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Additionally, the film earned Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashisht an award for Best Screenplay. Utkarshini Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia won an award for Best Dialogue in the film. Along with this, Pritishil Singh D’Souza also got the award for Best Make-up.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the National Award for the 7th time
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been a 7-time National Award winner with ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Previously, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had won the award for Popular Film Overall Entertainer in 2002 for ‘Devdas’. In 2005, ‘Black’ received the Best Feature Film Award in Hindi. In 2014, he won the award for popular film providing complete entertainer for ‘Mary Kom’ and also won a national award in 2015. Best Director for ‘Bajirao Mastani’ in 2018, Best Music Director for ‘Padmavat’ and has now won Best Screenplay and Best Editing for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ in 2023.
