In Uttar Pradesh, electricity rates can be increased from 28 paise to 1.09 per unit. A proposal has been prepared for this. According to the information, the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation is now preparing to impose fuel surcharge on the consumers, for which the Regulatory Commission has proposed. Under this, electricity will become costlier from 28 paise to Rs 1.09 per unit. Apart from this, the corporation has also talked about recovering 1437 crores from the consumers, for which the average billing rate has been prepared in different categories on the basis of 61 paise per unit. If the regulatory commission accepts the corporation’s rate, then electricity will become costlier from 28 paise per unit to 1.09 per meter.
Will not allow the proposal to be implemented: Council
The State Electricity Consumers Council believes that this proposal will not be allowed to be implemented at any cost. According to the President of the State Electricity Consumer Council, Awadhesh Kumar Verma, this proposal of the Power Corporation will not be allowed to be implemented because about 3122 crore surplus is already coming out on the Electricity Corporation. If this formula is adopted then the consumers get the benefit of 30 paise per unit. The Regulatory Commission did not adopt the formula like the law made in June 2020. In such a situation, the proposal to impose surcharge should be rejected immediately.
How expensive will electricity be for whom
28 paise per unit increase for domestic BPL after fuel surcharge, 44 to 56 paise per unit increase for domestic general, 49 to 87 paise per unit increase for commercial, 19 to 52 paise per unit for farmer Increase, ₹ 76 7.0 per unit increase for non industry blackload and 54 to 64 paise per unit increase for heavy industry can be done.
