The government is going to set up Project Implementation Units (PIUs) in every district so that Dalits can start their enterprise by making good projects. The government will also provide financial help for setting up the enterprise. The government will also provide a market for the sale of their products. Apart from the corporate sector, their products will also be purchased on priority in government procurement.

Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation chairman Lalji Nirmal said that the government would set up PIUs in every district to help dalits become entrepreneurs. There will be a Project Officer, Technical Assistant, Computer Assistant and a State Coordinator at the State level. It will help Dalit groups to start businesses. The group can have two or more members and each member will also be given financial assistance of Rs.
More than six thousand villages will become ideal villages
The government will also provide land to entrepreneurs. For the empowerment of Dalits, development works will also be done in every village identified by the government with an amount of Rs 20 lakh. Development works will be done on priority in these villages from various departments. The government will develop 6,171 Dalit dominated villages as Adarsh Grams, where all basic facilities will be available. Proper sanitation will be ensured in these villages with clean drinking water, solar lights, primary schools and other civic amenities.

He informed that all the schemes run by Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation will now be known as Pradhan Mantri Scheduled Caste Abhyudaya Yojana (PM-Ajay) and PM Adarsh Gram Yojana. He said that the government has abolished the mandatory provision of income limit of Rs 56 thousand per annum to take advantage of the schemes run by the Finance Development Corporation. However, preference will be given to those whose annual income is Rs 2.50 lakh or less.
