Lucknow. Keeping the caste and regional balance in view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party has declared candidates for six of the 11 seats of Uttar Pradesh quota falling vacant in the Rajya Sabha. The backward class population is the largest in the state. Voters of this class have a decisive role in the election. In view of this, BJP fielded maximum number of candidates from this category in the assembly elections.
This resulted in a resounding victory in the election. Now, along with giving them enough respect, the balance of the upper castes has also been worked out in giving Rajya Sabha ticket in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Surendra Singh Nagar, Baburam Nishad and Sangeeta Yadav are from Backward Classes, Dr. Laxmikant Bajpayee Brahmins, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal Vaishyas and Dr. Darshana Singh are Kshatriyas from upper castes.
It has been decided to send to Rajya Sabha Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal, who has long been considered a contender for due respect in the Bharatiya Janata Party, including former state president Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai, whose ticket is to contest the assembly elections from Gorakhpur Sadar seat of the Chief Minister. The reason was cut. Two women, Dr. Darshana Singh and Sangeeta Yadav, have been made candidates from Bundelkhand, along with old party worker Baburam Nishad, in the 2022 elections, keeping in mind that half the population has full faith in the BJP.
11 Rajya Sabha seats from the quota of Uttar Pradesh are going to become vacant. On the basis of the number of votes of the MLAs, the victory of eight BJP candidates is certain, while the SP will win three seats. The BJP on Sunday declared candidates for six of these eight seats. In these, in view of the Lok Sabha elections going to be held in 2024, the party has made a lot of effort to solve the caste-regional equations.
The BJP has decided to send former state president Dr. Laxmikant Bajpai to Rajya Sabha, giving another chance to Surendra Singh Nagar of Gautam Budh Nagar, Rajya Sabha member from the western Uttar Pradesh assembly in which SP-RLD alliance wants to prepare his strong ground. . Vajpayee is recognized as a grassroots and struggling leader. There is also a strategy to hold the Brahmin votes in the Lok Sabha elections that Vajpayee’s step has been taken.
Three-four names from Vaishya class were in the line of contenders. Of these, the party has given ticket to Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, a four-time MLA, from Gorakhpur. Agrawal’s ticket was cut this time because CM Yogi Adityanath had contested from his seat. He is a physician by profession and is a leader of simple-mindedness.
Along with cultivating West and Purvanchal, representation of Bundelkhand has also been kept. Baburam Nishad is a resident of Hamirpur. Presently he is the Chairman of Backward Classes Finance Development Corporation. Are old workers of the organization. There were no women among the five sitting Rajya Sabha members whose term is ending.
This time the party has fielded Dr. Darshana Singh and Sangeeta Yadav. Chandauli resident Darshana Singh is currently the National Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha. She has been the president of Mahila Morcha in the state. At the same time, Sangeeta Yadav has been an MLA from Chauri-Chaura assembly seat.
The party has not yet declared candidates for two seats. In such a situation, whose names are in the long list of contenders, their hope remains intact. However, if we look at the regional and caste equation, then the situation seems to be quite clear. Of those whose term is coming to an end, only Surendra Singh Nagar has been repeated. The names of Sanjay Seth, Jaiprakash Nishad, Zafar Islam and Shiv Pratap Shukla are not in this list.
