Lucknow. A very uncomfortable situation prevailed in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday when the tussle between Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya turned into a heated argument and Tu-Tu Main-Main. Sensing the urgency of the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath fulfilled his responsibility as the leader of the House. He intervened in the matter and said that along with the ruling party, the opposition will also have to follow the dignity. Only then the dignity and dignity of the house will be maintained.
He requested the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Satish Mahana, to get the indecent remarks made during the altercation removed from the proceedings of the House. Saying that if this is not done, it will become a precedent in the times to come and whatever has happened in the House in the past will be repeated again in the future. It is not right to interrupt and threaten when a member is speaking. This will also send a bad message to the public.
The background of this clash had started getting ready during the amendment motion presented by Akhilesh Yadav as Leader of Opposition on the motion of thanks brought by the government on the Governor’s address. During the amendment proposal, Akhilesh spoke to Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya sitting in front and said that the people have removed their heat. He was referring to the defeat of Keshav in the Vidhan Sabha elections. Then said that if you become Deputy Chief Minister again, whose heat has gone out. While saying this, he looked at the Chief Minister but Yogi kept smiling silently.
After completion of Akhilesh’s talk, Keshav got up to answer on behalf of the government. He said that don’t know which disease you have that you always praise the five years of your government. Get yourself checked first. You have been out of power for five years, then out for five years and you are yet to get your number for 25 years. Whereas despite all your efforts, Yogi Adityanath is again sitting on the chairs of Chief Minister and I as Deputy Chief Minister.
On this, Akhilesh said that whether we were able to come to power or not, but Keshav Maurya should tell when he will be able to sit in Lok Bhavan? Keshav immediately replied – Lotus has blossomed in Lok Bhavan. On this, Akhilesh told Keshav that the four-lane road in your district was also built by the SP government. Keshav said – Like you have built road, expressway, metro by selling Saifai land. After hearing this answer of Keshav, Akhilesh, who was furious, scolded Keshav and said that ‘You bring money from your father to build roads, you distributed ration by taking money from father..
On this the members of the ruling party and the opposition got agitated. Sensing the sensitivity of the situation, the Chief Minister stood up and said that the entire House listened to the Leader of the Opposition for more than an hour. Now when the Deputy Chief Minister is speaking in the House, one should not use petty words for a respected leader. He said that all governments have the right to be informed about their actions.
After the Deputy Chief Minister, the Leader of the Opposition could speak his mind. Saifai is also a part of this region. We can agree or disagree, but doing Tu-Tu, Main-I is absolutely inappropriate. To this, Akhilesh said that the Deputy Chief Minister should not have mentioned Saifai’s land while avoiding personal remarks. On the request of the Chief Minister, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly said that the unparliamentary comments would be thrown out of the proceedings of the House.
