Lucknow: The Yogi government will present the budget for the financial year 2022-23 in the Legislature today. This will be the first budget of the sixth and second term of the Yogi government. In the center of the budget will be the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra of the BJP, in which the government will prepare a solid ground for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024 by taking steps towards realizing the promises made.
Along with accelerating the development of infrastructure, the government will try hard to reach out to farmers, women and youth through the budget. The allocation of central schemes is set to increase in the budget. The size of the new budget is estimated to be around Rs 6.1 lakh crore. While finalizing the budget on Wednesday, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that special care has been taken of the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra in making the budget. Along with the budget for the last two financial years, Khanna has presented the vote on account of four months for the current financial year on 16 December last year.
Farmers will be kind: In the budget, in the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra, there may be an announcement to fulfill the promise of providing free electricity to the farmers for irrigation. Providing free electricity for irrigation will result in an additional expenditure of about Rs 1800 crore annually. Mukhyamantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana can also be another highlight of the budget, under which there will be a provision to provide grants to all small and marginal farmers for construction of borewells, tube wells, ponds and tanks.
An announcement to create Bhamashah Bhav Stability Fund can also be made in the budget to ensure minimum price to farmers for crops like potato, onion, tomato. Resources can also be arranged in the budget to encourage organic farming within a radius of five kilometers along the banks of river Ganga.
There can be gifts for women: Yogi government can give many gifts to women in the budget. Two free LPG cylinders can be announced to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Apart from increasing the financial assistance for the marriage of daughters of poor families to one lakh rupees under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Grant Scheme, the financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana has been increased from 15 thousand to 25 thousand rupees, women above 60 years of age. The government can also take steps to provide free travel facility in public transport (buses).
The government will also help the youth: The government will try to reach the youth through the budget. There may also be an announcement to start a self-reliant youth start up mission to connect the youth with employment-self-employment. The government will also show generosity to provide tablets/smartphones to the youth and increase sports facilities.
Emphasis on infrastructure: The government’s focus on infrastructure will continue in the budget. Fund allocation for incomplete expressway and metro rail projects will be the top priority of the government. Budget allocation is also fixed for Ayodhya and Lalitpur airport projects. Resources will also be made available in the budget for speedy implementation of the ‘Har Ghar Nal’ project. There may be an allocation of Rs 1.25 lakh crore in the budget for development works and construction works and new schemes.
With the establishment of universities and ITIs in the education sector, there will also be an emphasis on increasing health infrastructure. There will also be budget provision for setting up new dialysis centres. The plan to set up Anti-Corruption Organization units and cyber help desks in police stations in all the divisions of the state can also be a part of the budget.
