Lakhimpur. To stop their transfer, two teachers of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School held 20 girl students hostage for two hours. On Wednesday night at ten o’clock, the police reached the school and freed the girl students. At the same time, District Coordinator Sarva Shiksha Renu Srivastava has given a complaint against both the teachers.
According to the incident, the girls ate food in the school at 7.30 pm on Wednesday. After this 35-36 girls were left down, while 20 girls went on the roof. Meanwhile, teachers Manorama Mishra and Goldie Katiyar reached the students present on the terrace and told about their transfer. Tried to provoke the girl students and came down by latching on the door of the terrace. When the latch did not open for a long time, the girls started getting upset. After the girls started crying and making noise, it was found that the girl students were imprisoned on the terrace. On the information of the school staff and nearby villagers, the police freed the girl students. BSA also reached the spot. There was a ruckus in Kasturba Vidyalaya till around two o’clock in the night.
After freeing the girl students, District Coordinator Sarva Shiksha Renu Srivastava lodged a complaint against both the teachers at Neemgaon police station. The police have registered a case in which there is an allegation of endangering the safety of the girl child, provoking them, abusing the warden. BSA has also constituted a four-member investigation team. The team has been directed to give a report with evidence in three days.
Notice of termination of service will be issued after investigation: BSA Dr. Laxmikant Pandey says that the teachers had made the girl students their shield to stop their transfer. A case has been registered against both the teachers. Also, after receiving the investigation report of the four-member team, a notice will be issued for the termination of the services of the teachers.
