Lucknow. Seeing the increasing cases of corona virus infection in some states bordering Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed Team-09 to come on alert mode. Along with this, with immediate effect, it has been made mandatory for everyone to wear masks in public places in the state’s districts of NCR region, including Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad and Hapur, as well as in the capital Lucknow.
The cases of corona virus infection are increasing continuously in some states bordering Uttar Pradesh. Its influence has also increased in NCR districts of Hapur, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad. For the past few days, cases are increasing continuously here. In the last 24 hours, 65 new infected have been found in Gautam Budh Nagar and 20 in Ghaziabad. Along with this, 10 new positives have also been confirmed in Lucknow. CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed that the situation in all these areas should be closely monitored.
Along with this, the Chief Minister has also directed that masks should be made mandatory in all public places in the capital Lucknow along with Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr and Baghpat districts of NCR. In these districts, the people left out from vaccination should be identified and vaccinated. Along with this, the public address system should be used effectively everywhere. Immediate testing of symptomatic people should be done.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that only the Omicron variant of Kovid has been confirmed during genome sequencing of samples of patients found to be Kovid positive in NCR. According to experts, it is possible that the number of cases will increase but there will be no situation of hospitalization or the patient becoming very serious. People should be made aware to follow the covid protocol. At present, the total number of active cases in the state is 695. In the last 24 hours, 115 new corona infected were confirmed in 83 thousand 864 corona tests. In the same period, 29 people have also recovered from it.
Need to speed up vaccination of children: CM Yogi Adityanath said that the progress of Kovid vaccination campaign in the state is satisfactory. There is a need to intensify the immunization of children. With more than 30.75 million Kovid vaccinations, so far more than 103 percent of the adult population has received the first dose of the vaccine, while more than 86.34 percent people have received both the doses. More than 94 percent of adolescents in the 15 to 17 age group have received their first dose. After the first dose, children in the age group of 12 to 14 should be given the second dose as per eligibility.
Booster dose at 700 private immunization centers: The Chief Minister said that booster dose can be administered at 700 private immunization centers in the state. The general public should be made aware about the importance of these vaccination centers and booster doses. There is an expectation of expediting the introduction of booster doses to people over the age of 18. In any case, it should be ensured that not a single citizen is deprived of the vaccine.
