Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Prisons Dharamveer Prajapati has given this direction for the betterment of the prisoners. He said that regular prayers should be conducted in the jails. Gayatri and Mahamrityunjaya mantras should also be recited during this time. Along with this, the minister has also directed to ban plastic bottles and polythene in all jails.
Dharamvir Bharti, who worshiped while taking charge as a minister of the government, has instructed that Gayatri and Mahamrityunjaya mantras will resonate in all the jails of Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, there will also be an audio broadcast of the religious discourse. Jail Minister Prajapati said that there are people who believe in Sanatan Dharma in our country, all are believers of God. I believe that wherever Katha-Bhagwat and chanting takes place, the atmosphere changes.

I had in my mind that there would be many such prisoners who are in jail because of accidental incidents. I wish that Gayatri Mantra and Mahamrityunjaya Mantra should be played to change the mood of such prisoners. There are people who believe in Sanatan Dharma in our country, all are believers of God. I believe that wherever Katha-Bhagwat and chanting takes place, the atmosphere changes. People’s mood changes. In such a situation, I have issued instructions that Gayatri Mantra or Mahamrityunjaya Mantra should be recited after the morning prayer. He said that by doing this it is possible to change the mood of the prisoners and change their behavior. They will get a chance to improve. When he gets out of jail, he will be able to lead a good life. This will send a better message.
