The team completed a hat-trick of wins in the tournament with a thrilling win against the Punjab team on Friday. In the last over, Rahul Tewatia smashed Punjab’s hopes of victory by hitting six consecutive sixes. Batting first, Punjab had scored 189 runs for 9 wickets. In reply, the target of victory was achieved for the loss of 4 wickets in the last ball.
Against Punjab team, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first. Arshdeep and Rahul Chahar’s quick innings in the last over helped the team put up a challenging total of 189 runs for 9 wickets. Chasing the target, opener Shubman Gill scored a brilliant innings of 96 runs in 57 balls to bring the team closer to victory. Debuting Sudarshan scored 35 runs, then captain Hardik was dismissed for 27 runs.
Tewatia made a thrilling win
Gujarat’s team needed 19 runs in the last over and the Punjab captain handed the ball to Odin Smith. If the first ball went wide, then the wicket of captain Hardik was obtained on the second ball.
