Lucknow. Ballia district, which is notorious for cheating in Uttar Pradesh, has again tarnished the UP board exams. The question paper of Intermediate English, to be held from 2 pm on Wednesday, went viral on the Internet media even before the examination. Inter English examination of 24 districts was canceled after the viral question paper was found correct in the investigation.
In the UP Board 12th English paper leak case, District School Inspector (DIOS) of Ballia Brijesh Kumar Mishra has been suspended and arrested. On the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, STF has started investigation in this matter. By late night, the Ballia police had arrested 17 people, including the DIOS and a local journalist, in this case. The DIOS and the journalist were sent to jail, who were being interrogated by the STF on remand.
The high school and intermediate examinations of Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) are going on from March 24. To curb copying, the Government and the Secondary Education Department also made large-scale arrangements, but on the sixth day of the commencement of the examination, the question paper of Inter English became viral on the Internet media.
According to the officials, at around 10 am on Wednesday, the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Ballia received the question papers of Inter English Subject Series 316 ED and 316 EI to be held in the second shift. After informing the government, he sent the viral question paper to the UP Board headquarters for investigation. Viral papers turned out to be correct in matching the question papers.
Additional Chief Secretary Secondary Education Aradhana Shukla said that the question papers of both the above series of Inter English were to be tested from 2 o’clock in 24 districts including Ballia. About an hour before the commencement of the examination, the Inter English examination of all the examination centers in these districts was canceled. Duly examination was conducted in the remaining 51 districts.
Additional Chief Secretary Shukla said that the Chief Minister has taken this incident seriously. Brijesh Kumar Mishra, District School Inspector of Ballia has been suspended with immediate effect. STF has been ordered to investigate the matter. Whoever is found guilty in this, action will be taken against him till Rasuka.
On the other hand, Ballia police said that along with DIOS Brajesh Mishra, a local journalist Ajit Kumar Ojha and 15 others have been arrested from different police stations.
The Additional Chief Secretary said that there are also instructions that no candidate should face any problem, everyone has been appealed to maintain restraint. A large number of examinees had reached in all the 24 districts to take the English test. After some time he had to return disappointed.
Examination of these districts canceled: Ballia, Etah, Baghpat, Badaun, Sitapur, Kanpur Dehat, Lalitpur, Chitrakoot, Pratapgarh, Gonda, Azamgarh, Agra, Varanasi, Mainpuri, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Shamli, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Jalaun, Mahoba , Ambedkar Nagar and Gorakhpur.

Decision to take strict action in emergency meeting: Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi reached Directorate of Secondary Education on Wednesday. After inspecting the state level control room there, an emergency meeting was held with the officers on the paper leak case. The newly appointed minister said that after investigation, action would be taken against those who leaked the paper. He said that an emergency meeting has been held, the guilty will not be spared.
