Lucknow. The Samajwadi Party (SP) has expelled four leaders, including former Ghazipur Legislative Council Member (MLC) Kailash Singh, for opposing the party in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections. On the instructions of SP President Akhilesh Yadav, State President Naresh Uttam Patel has also expelled Vijay Yadav, the representative of the former District Panchayat President of Ghazipur. Apart from this, the National Secretary of Baba Saheb Vahini Ramesh Yadav and Upendra Yadav have also been shown the way out of the party.
SP State President Naresh Uttam Patel has issued a letter saying that action has been taken on them on the instructions of National President Akhilesh Yadav. The leaders who have been expelled from the SP include Kailash Singh, a resident of Audihar, former MLC of Ghazipur, Saidpur assembly constituency, as well as Vijay Yadav, a former district panchayat president representative of Ghazipur.
On the instructions of Akhilesh Yadav, the National Secretary of Baba Saheb Vahini Ramesh Yadav and Upendra Yadav have also been expelled from the party. All these leaders are accused of opposing the SP in the election of the Legislative Council member. SP President Akhilesh Yadav has taken action against the leaders who opposed the party in the elections.
Former MLC Kailash Singh had announced to leave the SP with his supporters three days ago. Kailash Singh had also spoken of supporting BJP candidate Chanchal Singh in the MLC elections. Before announcing his decision to leave the party, Kailash Singh had also shown his mettle by holding meetings with BDC, Gram Panchayat members and village heads. Seeing this, SP expelled him from the party.
In fact, the SP had nominated Pandit Bholanath Shukla from the Ghazipur MLC seat. Bholanath withdrew his nomination in support of BJP candidate Chanchal. After withdrawing the name of his candidate, SP President Akhilesh had announced the support of independent candidate Madan Yadav.
Complaint of irregularities in voter list with Election Commission: SP has complained to the Election Commission about irregularities in the voter list of Basti-Siddharthnagar Local Authority Constituency. SP State President Naresh Uttam Patel, in a letter sent to the Chief Election Commissioner, said that the photo of the voters has been swapped in the electoral rolls in a pre-planned conspiracy. He told that in the block of Bhanwapur, the name of the village head, area panchayat members etc. has been put in front of the photo. Terming it as a big conspiracy, SP has demanded to get the voter list corrected after conducting an inquiry.
