Kanpur. Padmashree Prof. of IIT Kanpur, who came into the limelight in the country and the world by giving accurate assessment on the second and third wave of corona virus. Manindra Agarwal has now spoken on the fourth wave as well. Earlier, his mathematical assessment on the second wave had been particularly useful for governments to protect against Corona, which was also highly praised. At the same time, on the Omicron variant in the third wave, he had made accurate predictions when the peak would come and the cases would decrease. After the third wave, now the apprehensions about the fourth wave have intensified again, on which Professor Maninder Agarwal has also given his reaction.
IIT professor Manindra Agarwal made headlines by releasing accurate estimates of the second and third wave with the help of mathematical formulas. The estimates issued by Prof. Aggarwal regarding the peak and down fall of the wave proved to be absolutely accurate. He prepared different mathematical models based on all the major states of India and gave predictions about the peak of cases on the second wave and then decreasing.
Estimates given in the second and third wave: At the time of the second wave, he had claimed from the mathematical model that UP would be at its peak from April 20 to 25 and on an average around ten thousand cases would come per day. After this the graph of corona infected will start falling. The third wave in the country was expected to peak between October and November. He also gave his opinion on the new variant Omicron of Corona and described it as less effective than Delta but effective spreading faster. Both times his assessments proved to be accurate.
Told the role of herd immunity, vaccination is important: During the third wave, Prof. Agarwal had described herd immunity as a shield with vaccination. He said that looking at the number of people who have recovered after corona vaccination and getting infected in the past, it can be said that people have developed herd immunity. During the second wave in other states of North India including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, a large number of people were hit by Corona. The endibody is ready inside them, while the vaccination is also protecting.
On the fourth wave, Prof. Opinion of Manindra Agarwal: IIT’s Padma Shri awarded Prof. Manindra Aggarwal says that at present it is too early to say anything about the fourth wave of Corona. The effect of Delta was seen in the second wave and Omicron in the third, due to which there is talk of a new mutant named Deltachron, but when it will come, nothing can be said about it at the moment. He said that now Indians have developed immunity to both Omicron and Delta variants, so the new variant is not expected to have any effect.
