The Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates of assembly elections in 5 states. Elections will be held in 7 phases in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. It will start from Uttar Pradesh on February 10. The results of all the state elections will be declared on March 10.
The Election Commission said that strict protocol will be followed in the assembly elections of 5 states between Corona. No roadshow, rally, pad yatra, cycle and scooter rally will be allowed till January 15. Election campaigning will be allowed only through virtual rally. No victory procession will be taken out after the victory.
Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said that elections will be held in 690 assemblies of 5 states in the country. 18.34 crore voters will take part in the elections. New protocols will be implemented to conduct elections between Corona. All election personnel will have received both doses of the corona vaccine. Precaution doses will also be applied to those who need it.

5 big things so far
1. Corona challenging elections – New Kovid protocols will be implemented.
2. Corona infected will also be able to vote- Postal ballot facility to patients.
3. 16% Polling booths have been increased. More than 2.15 lakh polling stations have been built.
4. The maximum number of voters at a polling station is 1500 to 1250.
5. The limit of election expenditure has been increased, now Rs 40 lakh in big states.
Guidelines for political parties
1. All programs will be videographed.
2. The parties have to declare the criminal record of their candidates.
3. Candidate will also have to declare criminal history.
4. In UP, Punjab and Uttarakhand, each candidate will be able to spend 40 lakh rupees.
5. In Manipur and Goa, this expenditure limit will be Rs 28 lakh.
