New Delhi. Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the ongoing Ashes series between England and Australia. He will also miss the final Test in Hobart. He was injured in the first match played at the Gabba. He is recovering from a side strain. In such a situation, Scott Boland can remain in the playing XI. However, he too got injured on the third day of the fourth Test being played in Sydney. He was injured on the last ball of the second session.
Boland did not bowl after tea. He took two wickets during the first session. However, he could bowl if needed. Had Hazlewood been fit for this Test, Boland, who made a stellar debut at the MCG, would have been ruled out of the fourth Test. He took 6 wickets for 7 runs in that match. However, now he can get to play the third match in a row. The team has two more options available in the form of Jay Richardson and Michael Neser. Both played in the Adelaide Day-Night Test.
