The accused in the Kanpur property dealer Manish Gupta murder case and a reward of one lakh each, Inspector JN Singh and outpost in-charge Falmandi Akshay Mishra were arrested by the Gorakhpur police from Ramgarhtal area at around 5 pm on Sunday. After arresting the two, the police handed over the probe to the SIT. After hours of interrogation, the SIT produced both the accused in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Amit Kumar, from where they were sent to judicial custody.
SSP Dr. Vipin Tada told that the accused Inspector Jagat Narayan Singh and outpost in-charge Akshay Mishra had come to Gorakhpur to surrender in the court. But Bansgaon Inspector Rana Devendra Singh, who was part of the team formed to arrest the accused, arrested both of them from Deoria bypass turn on the basis of information. Now the police are hopeful of arresting four other accused policemen soon. At the same time, another SI Vijay Yadav, accused in this case, has filed a surrender application in the Allahabad High Court.
Property dealer Manish Gupta, resident of Barra, Kanpur, had come to visit Gorakhpur with two friends on September 27. Stayed at Krishna Palace Hotel in Ramgarhtal area. Manish was killed after beating up the policemen who had come to check in the hotel room on the midnight of 27 September. Manish’s wife Meenakshi has filed a murder case against the policemen.

Earlier, a special team of doctors did the medical at the Ramgarhtal police station of Inspector JN Singh and SI Akshay Mishra. Both the accused were produced in the court late night. During this, a large amount of police force was deployed from the police station to the court for security. Both the accused were brought to the jail late at around one o’clock in the night, where both have been kept in Nehru barracks for security.
The accused remained adamant on the accident
Inspector JN Singh and outpost in-charge Akshay Mishra were interrogated by the SIT all night at the Ramgarhtal police station. During this he remained adamant on the accident. He said that Manish Gupta had drunk too much. He got hurt while intoxicated and died on the way to the hospital.

Inspector JN Singh and SI Akshay Mishra have been arrested. Both were ready to surrender in court. Both have been handed over to the SIT. SIT will take further action.
