Gorakhpur. The anger of the people facing the ravages of floods is now erupting. Villagers returned them by shouting slogans against MP Kamlesh Paswan, who came to know the condition of flood victims in Rajdhani village of Chaurichaura area. Angry villagers blocked the road for an hour and demanded to provide facilities. District Magistrate Vijay Kiran Anand took stock of the flood affected areas in Khajni area, while MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh reached the flood affected villages of Campierganj area and helped the public.
Bansgaon MP Kamlesh Paswan had reached the Rajdhani village of his assembly Chaurichaura on Monday to take stock of the flood-affected area. As soon as the MP reached the capital village, the villagers started shouting slogans against him. The villagers said that if the embankment had been repaired in time, they would not have had this situation today. No one visited before the flood, now people are coming to express their sympathy for drowning. We don’t need such sympathy. Seeing the anger of the villagers, the MP pacified them and returned from there after talking. The video of the villagers’ protest went viral on social media throughout the day. The MP assured that he stands with the flood victims. Every possible help will be provided to each individual.
Flood victims, residents of Basant Tola of Rajdhani village, blocked the Rajdhani road by placing stones. He said that flood waters have entered our houses for four days. Our family and cattle are suffering away from home. We do not even have arrangements for food, but no public representatives or government help has been received so far. Due to the jam for about an hour, there was a queue of vehicles on both sides of the Rajdhani road. On the persuasion of the dignitaries, the villagers agreed and opened the jam after an hour.
On the other hand, MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh took stock of dozens of villages including Rigauli, Bahbolia, Mirihiraya, Moosebar, Kaktahi and distributed relief material among the flood victims. Flood material was distributed to 350 villagers of Belauha Tola of Rigauli Gram Sabha along with distribution of saris to women and medicines to villagers in Kakatahi village during flood area visit. Naib Tehsildar Vikas Kumar, Lekhpal Vineet Kumar etc. were present.
