During the party in the room of Rajaram Mohan Rai hostel of the university campus, the altercation and abuse turned into a fight. A party was going on in Rajaram Hostel late on Thursday night, in which a liquor party was also held. During this, a fierce fight broke out between the students of Birla B and Rajaram Hostel after abusing and abusing. Within no time the stone pelting started. After this, Birla’s boys and Rajaram’s boys started pelting stones and pelting petrol bombs face to face. On information, the force of several police stations reached the spot. After some time, the matter calmed down and both the parties went to the hostel. During this, BHU outpost in-charge Rajkumar Pandey has also been injured in the rescue, Inspector Lanka Mahesh Pandey told that there was a fight during the liquor party but now the matter is calm.
BHU students held the head of the department hostage
The students of BHU sat on a dharna till late night in the Department of Political Science on Thursday, alleging irregularities in the results of their research admission. Not only this, from two o’clock in the afternoon to late night, the students of the Department of Politics, Prof. Employees including Ashok Upadhyay were kept hostage. The agitating students of the proctorial board were engaged till late night in persuading them. In fact, the result of the research entrance examination of the Department of Politics was leaked. In view of this, Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. VK Shukla has constituted an inquiry committee. After getting a clean chit from the inquiry committee, the result of research entrance examination was declared on August 25. At the same time, the students who were not selected got angry after seeing the result and started protesting in front of the department. During this, the students also raised slogans against the head of the department. While the head of the department, Prof. Ashok Upadhyay has tried to convince the agitating students. The result of research admission is prepared not at the departmental level but at the central level. Despite this, the student is not ready to accept it.
Protest demanding to start classes
On the other hand, another group of students staged a sit-in at Singhdwar on Thursday demanding to start all undergraduate and postgraduate classes. During this, the traffic from Singhdwar was completely disrupted. On receiving the information about the strike, the officials of the Proctorial Board reached the spot. He informed the students about the preparations being made by the university to start classes. The protesting students ended the dharna by giving a memorandum to them on the spot. The students have warned that if the written notice to open all classes is not issued by September 7, they will be forced to stage a sit-in again. Abhinav, Umesh, Kamal, Harsh Pratap, Avinash etc. were involved in the dharna.
