New Delhi. Indian opener KL Rahul played a brilliant innings in the second match of the five-match series being played against England. The batsman, who missed a century in Nottingham, made a place in the list of Indian legends with a century on the historic ground of England. Earlier, only two openers from India had scored a century on this ground. Rahul became India’s third opener to score a century on this ground.
In the Lord’s Test, England captain Joe Root won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a strong start to the team by sharing 126 runs while batting brilliantly. Played unbeaten on 127 runs on the first day of the second test match against England. While Rohit returned after playing an innings of 83 runs. Rahul scored a century

Third Indian opener to score a century at Lord’s
Rahul became the 10th batsman overall to score a century at Lord’s for India. Vinoo Mankad opened the Indian account by scoring a century on this ground in 1952. He became the first Indian batsman to do so. He was also the first Indian to do so as an opener. After this, the current Indian coach Ravi Shastri scored a century in 1990. Rahul is only the third Indian opener to be included in this list.
