The people who came to the procession of Vivek, a resident of Chhapra village of Dhanari, had left for their village after boarding a bus from Chandausi at around quarter past five after the marriage ceremony was over. Before Bahjoi town, the tire of the bus was punctured near Lehrawan village, so the driver and operator stopped the bus and started changing the tyre. During this, the baraatis in the bus also got down from the bus to eat fresh air and stood on the side of the road. They did not know that death was waiting for them below.
After some time, suddenly another bus coming from Chandausi trampled the procession in such a way that seven people lost their lives on the spot. When more than 20 processions were injured, their screams were heard far and wide.

Weeds spread in Chhapra village
After getting information about the accident, mourning spread in Chhapra village too. Many people came running to the government hospital of Bahjoi to know the well being of their family members. Those whose loved ones lost their lives in the accident, they started crying after roaring.
