Aligarh. The property of 27 accused in the liquor incident in Aligarh will now be attached. After the gangster, now the screws will be tightened under the administration 14-A. So far, assets worth crores of rupees have been appraised across the district.
The liquor scandal that shook the state started on May 29. In which 109 people died till June 10. Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed to take strict action against the culprits as well as to confiscate the property acquired from illegal business. After which DM Chandrabhushan Singh had formed a team at the administrative level.
Apart from this, strict action was taken against the liquor mafia at the SSP level. So far, more than 30 cases have been registered against the accused in the liquor scandal in different police stations. The accused of more than 80 liquor cases have been arrested from Aligarh and other districts and sent to jail. Of these accused, 27 have been gangstered so far. After the gangster is registered from the police level, the administration has also started preparing to take action under Section 14-A of this Act.
Have properties up to Delhi, NCR, Uttarakhand
The properties of the accused in the liquor scandal are up to Delhi, NCR and Uttarakhand. However, so far only those properties have come in the records of the administration, which are in the district. The details of bank accounts and income tax department have not been opened yet. In the district too, there are many flats, agricultural and business lands in the names of the accused of liquor scandal, Anil Chaudhary, Rishi Sharma and others.
After the action of the gangster on the accused of liquor scandal, now the proceedings of 14-A will be started. The property they have acquired through illegal business will be confiscated and demolished. –Chandrabhushan Singh, DM
