New Delhi. It has been seven months since the farmers’ protest at the borders of Delhi against the Agriculture Act. Meanwhile, an incident of assault between farmers and BJP workers has come to the fore at the UP Gate Ghazipur border in the morning. In this, there are claims of vandalism in vehicles and injuries to some people.
According to the information, around 10 am some BJP workers were present near the agitation site to welcome BJP leader Amit Valmiki, he was being welcomed by playing drums. Meanwhile, farmers also objected to this and started showing black flags to them. Soon a fight started between the two groups.
A BJP worker said, “We were welcoming our leader and Tikait came with his comrades, with iron sticks etc. in their hands. They started vandalizing and beating vehicles. They have vandalized around 70 to 80 vehicles. BJP Ranita Singh Metropolitan Vice President said, We stood peacefully to welcome BJP leader Amit Valmiki ji. At the same time, Tikait’s supporters came with weapons and beat up our sisters, injuring many women.
On the other hand, the farmers allege that some BJP workers were raising slogans against the farmers when they reached the agitation site, when there was a fight between the farmers and them. It is also being said by the farmers that BJP workers were abusing. When the farmers expressed their disapproval, they started throwing stones. After which this incident happened.
Bharatiya Kisan Union’s Uttar Pradesh President Rajveer Singh Jadaun told IANS, “Some BJP workers were reaching the agitation site with flags. At the same time there was a fight between the farmers, we will report the incident to the police. We are attacked and we do not complain, it cannot happen. Ghaziabad Indirapuram CO Anshu Jain told IANS, “Dharna is already going on at the border. The convoy of a BJP leader was passing through the movement site, some workers were present here to welcome him. This dispute took place between the farmers and them. A couple of vehicles have been vandalized.
