Nagar Panchayat EO Amit Kumar Singh has deployed boatmen and divers in two boats to monitor the Ganga for 24 hours. Sub-Collector Vijay Kumar, Tehsildar Pratathi Tripathi, co-convenor Yogendra Shukla reached Rajghat and took information from the monitoring team. Two bodies were spotted near Bada Math Ghat in the afternoon during surveillance from a steamer. Kotwali police and Nagar Panchayat personnel took out the bodies and performed the last rites.

Serene: At Ralpurghat, people saw two dead bodies being unloaded. Police reached the spot and took out a dead body and cremated it. The second body was washed away with the strong current. Local people told that the body went on the other side of the stream towards Asni (Fatehpur).
