Lucknow. Lucknow’s Ghazipur police has arrested eight people with californium (palladium), the world’s second most expensive radioactive element. Police have seized about 340 grams of californium radioactive elements from smugglers. He will be sent to IIT Kanpur for metal purity testing. The actual radioactive element californium is priced between Rs 17-1800 crore per gram. According to this, if it is pure californium, then 60-61 billion rupees have been recovered. Only Bhabha Atomic Energy Institute has the right to buy and sell it. If the metal is pure, it will be a big achievement for the Lucknow Police.
What is californium: californium (californium 252) – californium is an extremely rare radioactive substance also known as neutron antimatter. Prior to the discovery of antimatter, it was the most expensive material in the world. It was discovered in the year 1950 at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Its value of 1 gram is up to 1800 crores rupees. During the excavation of petroleum, californium metal is used in other important works including the treatment of cancer. At the same time, antimatter is the most expensive substance in the world. According to scientific information, only 309 atoms (atoms) of it can be made. In January 2011, the American Astronomical Society reported that it is also found in the upper layer of Thunderstorm Clouds.
