The agriculture department in the state has also started preparing for this. Farmers have also been warned. These desert locusts form herds and eat crops up to their weight every day.
When millions attack these farms, they ruin everything. The desert locust is considered to be the most destructive migratory insect in the world. It can contain up to eight crore locusts in a herd spread over a square kilometer.
Last year, when a swarm of locusts from Pakistan attacked India, about 17 districts in Uttar Pradesh were put on alert.
According to District Agriculture Officer Vinod Kumar Singh, “Based on the advisory issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Rajasthan has issued an alert for possible locust attack and directed the authorities to plan a strategy to repel it.” Has been given.”
