Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday led a delegation of senior ministers to Raj Bhavan to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari over the Maratha reservation issue.Post the meeting, CM Uddhav Thackeray said in light of the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Maratha reservation, a letter is being sent to President Kovind. In this letter, the Maharashtra government has requested the Centre to take immediate steps to address its concerns. Uddhav Thackeray also said that he would be seeking time for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the matter.”
Following the Supreme Court’s decision, we all decided to make a request to the Centre in this regard, taking into account the sentiments of the society, and accordingly, we have met the Governor today and taken the first step,” he said.
Asked whether his ties with Governor Koshiyari were still strained, CM Thackeray told India Today TV, “It is not a question about strained relations…we reacted to the type of answers we received…we have full respect for the Governor.”
